Hi, I'm Mackenzie
Founder
My journey into hunting started nine years ago with one dog: Remi, a driven and loyal Vizsla who opened the door to everything this lifestyle has become for me. We’ve been through a lot together in the field—long tracks, cold mornings, hard-earned retrieves—and it’s that bond that changed my life.
Today, I run with two dogs:Â
- Remi, my 9-year-old Vizsla who started it all
- Moose, a strong and steady 6-year-old Vizsla/Weimaraner mix
They’ve taught me more about patience, trust, and persistence than any book or video ever could.
Forged in the Field was born out of a desire to help others build that same connection—to train with purpose, hunt with heart, and forge a stronger version of themselves through the work. This platform is for anyone ready to take their first step, or their next, into the world of upland hunting, dog handling, and field-focused living.

Because the field is where everything gets real.
It’s where obedience is tested, trust is built, instincts are sharpened and where the bond between dog and handler either holds or breaks. It’s also where I was shaped.Â
Forged in the Field isn’t just a name. It’s a belief.Â
That we become who we’re meant to be through the work, through early mornings, missed shots, small wins, cold hands, and long walks behind good dogs.
This brand was born from years of learning the hard way, mostly alongside my first dog, Remi. He didn’t just get me into upland hunting, he showed me what it meant to commit, to lead, and to grow into someone worthy of the dog beside you.
Now I’m here to build something that helps others do the same. Train with more clarity, connect more deeply, and show up in the field with confidence earned through real effort.Â
Forged in the Field is for people who understand that the hunt isn’t just about birds. It’s about becoming better every step of the way.
